Stéphane Bordas is a Professor of Computational Mechanics at the University of Luxembourg and at Cardiff University. He works in many different fields, including aerospace engineering, biomechanics and data mining. He has also been included in Clarivate’s prestigious list of Highly Cited Researchers for several years.

In his presentation, titled: New Frontiers for Engineering and Medical Simulations, he will discuss the challenges associated with assisting medical interventions with computational modelling and will focus on the particular point of patient specificity and highlight similarities and differences with standard engineering models. He will also give examples in the field of wind energy harvesting and surgical simulation in breast cancer.
