On Thursday 13 April, at the Schuman House, the Friends celebrated the 5th edition of their S.H.A.W. 2023 (Scholarship Holders & Award Winners) and no less than 15 students from the University of Luxembourg received their brand new scholarship there. In addition, some of the Friends award winners from last year and the sponsors of the association also took part in this ceremony in the conference room in Clausen. Professor Rolf Tarrach, President of the Friends of the University of Luxembourg, welcomed all the guests and invited Ms. Alysia Amaglio from Allen & Overy, Ms. Alexandra Da Silva from the Luis y Antonio Portabella Foundation and the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Professor Catherine Léglu to join him on stage. After everyone had spoken a few words to the audience, the Portabella certificates were first distributed to these 13 students:
- Ms. Mégane BAUTISTA from the Philippines, who is currently studying for a bachelor’s degree in Animation,
- Ms. Fariba EMAMI from Iran, she is doing a master’s degree in Geography and Spatial Planning,
- Mr. Andrew PFANNKUCHE comes from the United States and is studying for a Master in Contemporary European History,
the 3 are are from the Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences (FHSE).
- Mr. Ananthakumar SETHURAMANUJAM from India, he is currently studying for a Master in Logistics and Supply Chain Management,
- Mr. Rezgar FEIZI from Iran, he is studying for a Master’s degree in Finance and Economics,
- Ms. Mahdieh RAHMATI from Iran, she is also studying for her Master in Finance and Economics,
- Ms. Amalya KURBANOVA comes from Uzbekistan and is studying for a Master in Entrepreneurship and Innovation,
all are from the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance (FDEF).
- Ms. Maja BOZIC from Serbia, who is currently studying for a Master in Integrated Systems Biology,
- Mr. Danial BAJGIRAN TABBAKH from Iran, he is also studying for his Master in Integrated Systems Biology,
- Mr. Jude FORBEKOM ASANJI from Cameroon and studying for a Master’s degree in Entrepreneurship & Innovation,
- Mr. Namit BHANDARI from India, he is studying for a Master in Engineering,
- Mr. Paulinus AKHIGBE from Niger, he is also studying for his Master in Engineering,
- Mr. Samir Mahmoud AHMED comes from Egypt and is studying for a Master in Civil Engineering,
these 6 students are from the Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine (FSTM).
The Allen & Overy Fellowship & Internship in cooperation with the FDEF was then awarded to the following 2 bachelor students: Ms. Klaudia Jaczewska and Ms. Carla Invernizzi. After a cinematic review of the 2 scholarships over the last few years, the ceremony finally ended with a cocktail in the Gilbert Trausch room on the ground floor of the magnificent house.
