On Thursday 11 July 2024, les Amis organized an exciting cultural trail in Esch-sur-Alzette. The tour began at Bridderhaus, crossed the city’s pedestrian zone, and ended at Konschthal. The visit was led by the two curators of Cyber Structures by Elektron, Françoise Poos and Vincent Crapon. In collaboration with the University of Luxembourg’s Espace Cultures, the participants were able to discover the work of various artists involved in this project, including some from JKU Linz. They were also able to discover the contributions of the University of Luxembourg to the multidisciplinary project, under the direction of Prof. Christoph Schommer, Associate Professor of Artificial Intelligence.
Now, you might be wondering, what exactly is cyber art? Cyber art refers to a class of art produced with the help of computer software and hardware, often with an interactive or multimedia aspect. It’s a contemporary art form that leverages technology to create immersive and interactive experiences. This form of art has evolved over the years and now includes a wide range of artistic expressions, from digital paintings and sculptures to interactive installations and performances. Elektron’s Cyber Structures are a great example of this innovative art form. Another project will soon see the light of day and we will keep you updated.
After the visit, participants enjoyed a well-deserved drink. We also invite you to discover this cultural trail in images:
